A lap size quilt top will cover the opening of a standard bathroom tub and shower unit. There are numerous patterns available in quilting books that come in lap size. There are free patterns for quilt tops available on-line as well. There is also the option of creating a personal design with a collection of unique quilt blocks. The log cabin pattern is a classic and it too can be personalized with odds and ends of fabric from quilters' personal fabric stash. Below are standard instructions for making a three piece matching bathroom ensemble.
Once the design is decided upon measurements will need to be taken. The type of shower curtain size will depend on what opening is being covered. If the area being covered is a bathroom tub and shower unit a lap size quilt top is required. If it is a stand alone stall depending on the size of it adjustments may need to be made . To complement both these curtain sets a matching wall hanging would be a nice touch.
Purchasing the correct amount of fabric ahead of time is required to have all three pieces match. Local quilt shops will have a variety of fabric to choose from. On-line quilt shops also carry a selection of fabric. Some of these shops advertise their fabric on E-Bay. Bidding on-line can sometimes save quilters money.
